Training of Trainers in MyCoop
For RVO, I trained 7 trainers in Tchad to deliver training on the basics of associations and cooperatives to farmer groups involved (among others) in the AgriJobBooster-project and the LAND-at-scale-project in Tchad. The trainers learned to use modules from My.Coop to strengthen capacities of local farmers’ associations and cooperatives. The modules cover basic operation of a cooperative, assessment of member needs, services to be provided to members and marketing. In training trainers, we discussed and practised the content of the MyCoop modules, the roles of a trainer, facilitation skills, developing a training from A to Z, choosing and using different methods and embedding learning.

The trainers first received a basic 4-day training in which they could also practice themselves. They then went to work in pairs to facilitate 1-day trainings with several cooperatives, in which they were supervised. Following on from the first training, there was a follow-up training to go deeper, practice more and also give a second training to the same cooperatives. The aim is for the trainers to be able to continue independently to support The aim is that the trainers are independently able to continue supporting farmers’ associations and cooperatives by using different modules of My.Coop by integrating it into their existing and new work. The trained trainers are from three organisation: Oxfam, Caritas Suisse en JobBooster Tchad.
