Train the trainer – project managers

For MDF Afrique Centrale, on request of IRC, I designed and facilitated a trajectory with training and coaching for project managers working in the health programme of IRC in Goma, D.R. Congo. They first participated in a five-day training of trainers during which they learned the different roles of a trainer, the steps involved in designing a training course and the use of different interactive training methods to be used with their target group of health workers based in very remote villages in North Kivu. I then coached them to prepare their training, making use of the existing training material of the national vaccination programme. They turned this standard training into a very interactive one, which was carried out in the beautiful hills of Rwanguba together with an agent of the national vaccination programme. Their target group, the nurses, greatly appreciated this new approach, which was reflected in their presence throughout the week and the motivation they put into the learning. Also the government agent became inspired and joined in the interaction. Mission accomplished!
